From medieval storage barn in the to community hall, the Tithe Barn is a key part of Dunster's past, present and future.

The Tithe barn was originally part of the Benedictine Dunster Priory, and was originally used to store payments to the church in the form of one tenth ("tithe") of the estate's produce per year.

The Tithe Barn has been used for many things, including the estate's stores, but for many years it was in a poor state of repair.

In recent years a steering group of local community members and key stakeholders was formed and successfully raised enough funds to restore the Tithe Barn, and safeguard its future to be enjoyed by the community for many years to come.

Owned by The Crown Estate and leased to a management committee made up of local residents, the Tithe Barn is a popular place for all sorts of community activities, including weddings, meetings, youth groups, and entertainment events.

You can read more about the history of the Tithe Barn and get more information on events there on the Dunster Tithe Barn Website
