Dunster is one of the finest medieval towns in the country. It has a thriving community, varied shops and restaurants, and is somewhere you will want to return to again and again...

Dunster is situated on the north eastern edge of Exmoor, and really is a gateway to the national park and the Dunster Estate- with long distance walks, trails and the main A roads to the park running from and to here.

DUnster Yarn Market

Dunster offers a wide range of shops, from boutiques to stores selling local crafts and goods. Also, those visitors that seek a traditional cream tea, or a pint of local ale by the fire, will be spoilt for choice with Dunster's fine tea rooms and traditional pubs.

There are also high quality restaurants which also strive to serve the best local produce they can, and excellent hotels and bed and breakfasts that offer modern day comfort in historical surroundings.

walkers are welcome

All of the businesses in Dunster will be able to provide information and local advice that will help you make the most of your visit, and with 'Walkers are Welcome' status Dunster is a great base for a walking break.

The Crown Estate works closely with the Dunster community to provide high quality walks and trails from the village and out into the spectacular countryside around.

There is also so much to see in the village itself, with historical buildings such as the Yarn Market (1590), the Luttrell Arms hotel (1443), the village gardens and the tithe barn there are hundreds of years of history to explore.
